Transportation

The Transportation Policy Committee serves as a forum for state and provincial elected officials, their federal counterparts, as well as policy makers from state transportation departments, authorities, and industry stakeholders, to share information, explore solutions, and advocate for transportation funding and financing policies and innovative technological solutions that will maintain and enhance the region and the nation’s transportation infrastructure while promoting the safe and efficient transport of people, goods, and services on a safe, reliable, and environmentally sound surface transportation system.

Committee; the Rhode Island Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Advisory Committee; the Aquidneck Land Trust; the Sakonnet Preservation Society; the United States Navy League; the Physics First Advisory Board; the St. Philomena School Board of Trustees; the Rhode Island Science and Engineering Fair; the Rhode Island Space Grant consortium; the UMASS Dartmouth Computer and Electrical/Computer Engineering Advisory Committee and serves as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Lucy's Church. A 1979 graduate Notre Dame Catholic High School, he went on to earn a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Bridgeport in 1983 and a Masters in Computer Science from Brown University in 1989. Senator DiPalma served on the Middletown Town Council from 2004-2008 before elected to the Rhode Island Senate. Lou is married to Margaret and they have two children, Kellie and Abigail. He is employed as a Technical Director for Raytheon.
