Hundreds of top state officials will gather in Manchester, New Hampshire in August to discuss pressing policy issues from Covid-19 recovery to climate change and workforce shortages.
The four-day meeting, held by the Council of State Governments Eastern Regional Conference (CSG East), will draw legislators, executive branch officials, and other public and private-sector leaders from 11 eastern states, two U.S. territories, and five Canadian provinces as part of the organization’s 61st Annual Meeting.
New Hampshire state Senators Sharon Carson and Lou D’Allesandro will serve as co-chairs and oversee planning for a full schedule of events for all attendees and their families set to take place August 14-17, 2022.
Senator Sharon Carson has served Londonderry-area residents in the
New Hampshire Senate since 2008. She was re-elected President Pro Tempore in December 2020. Before becoming a senator, she also served as a state representative from Londonderry from 2000 until 2008.
“CSG plays such an important role in shaping successful public policy. I’m looking forward to meeting government leaders from across the eastern region so we can discuss the issues that are affecting all of us, including best practices that lead to solutions. Here in New Hampshire, we’re ready to roll out the welcome mat,” Carson remarked.
Senator Lou D’Allesandro, from Manchester, has represented the 20th District in the New Hampshire Senate since 1998. He is a member of the Finance and Capital Budget Committees and is Vice-Chair of Ways and Means. He previously served as National Chair for the Council of State Governments in 2019.
“I’m delighted to welcome the Council of State Governments to my hometown,” he said. “As legislators and officials, we have so much in common and so much to talk about. Seeing old friends and making new ones is a big part of the CSG experience. Our meeting in August will give us the chance to celebrate how government works with effective leadership, even in these most challenging times.”
The meeting, funded in part by registration fees, is also supported by corporate sponsorships. Each year, CSG East welcomes local, regional, and national sponsors ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local businesses and associations. More information on sponsorship levels and registration can be found here.
Questions about sponsorship and meeting details should be directed to CSG East Director David Biette, dbiette@csg.org.
Registration for all attendees opened March 16, 2022. Early registration rates will be available until June 19.
The Council of State Governments (CSG) is the nation’s only nonpartisan association of state officials serving all three branches of government in all 50 states and U.S. territories. CSG is a region-based forum that facilitates the exchange of information and ideas among its members and conducts fact-based research and analysis to help shape effective public policy.
CSG’s Eastern Office, based in New York City, supports legislative, judicial, and executive-branch officials from its 13 member jurisdictions, which include the states from Maine to Maryland, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The five Eastern Canadian provinces of Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island are international affiliate members of CSG’s Eastern Region.
