Speakers
Ellen Kahler
Ellen Kahler became the executive director of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF) in late 2005. Prior to joining the VSJF, Ellen was the executive director of the Peace & Justice Center in Burlington (1990 to 2002) where her work focused on peace, human rights, racial equity, and economic justice (basic family needs, livable wages, and under-employment).
She is a graduate of Bucknell University with a bachelor of arts in political science and from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University with a master of public administration.
Nessa Richman
Nessa J. Richman is network director for the Rhode Island Food Policy Council. She leads the Council in achieving its mission to promote a more accessible, equitable, and sustainable food system in Rhode Island. She works closely with Council members, Rhode Island’s director of food strategy, and other state leaders to advance good food policy and implement the Rhode Island Food Strategy, a comprehensive five-year plan unveiled in May 2017 to grow and sustain markets for locally grown food for the good of communities, the environment, and the economy.
