Ongoing CSG East 2020 Policy Committee Meetings, August 3-29, 2020

CSG East’s policy committees will meet throughout August via webinars. The meetings are by invitation only, and members of the policy committees will receive invitations via email. Below is the schedule of meetings to date with currently available information. Please check back if the policy committee you are assigned has not been scheduled.

Agriculture and Rural Development, will meet Tuesday, August 4 at 10-11 am, and August 18, at 10-11 am.

Canada-U.S. Relations will hold two sessions (which are the only sessions that are not invitation only, click the title of each to register). The first session on Monday, August 10 at 11 am to noon is titled Closed Border: Bilateral Relations in the COVID Era. The second session on August 11 at 11 am to noon is titled State, Provincial, and Federal Relations in the Era of the Coronavirus, For more information to come and you may also contact David Biette.

Council on Communities of Color has been postponed to September 25 from 9 am to 5 pm. For more information, please mail us at info25 at@csg.org.

Education, will meet on Monday, August 17 at 2 pm. Committee members are encouraged to bring success stories and lessons learned from their own state’s responses to COVID-related education issues, particularly around the reopening of schools within the member states. Additionally, Committee Members are encouraged to give a short presentation on the relevant education work being done in their states, both related and unrelated to COVID-19. Energy and Environment‘s informal working group on agricultural and forestry sequestration will meet on August 3 from 3 – 4 p.m. and on August 13 from 10 – 11 a.m. The group has been meeting virtually on a weekly or biweekly basis since mid-May. For more information, please email Rona Cohen.

Health will hold two sessions. The first session on Thursday, August 13 at 1 – 2:30 pm is titled Beyond the Pandemic: The Future of Telehealth. The second session on Thursday, August 20 at 1 – 2:30 pm is titled Food Insecurity and the Health of Older Adults: An Agriculture and Health Partnership. Military and Veterans Affairs, is scheduled for Monday, August 17 at 10 am. For more information please contact Debbie Paige.

Territorial Relations, is postponed to September 21 at 10:30 am. The topics of discussion are food insecurity, and rebuilding the economy. For more information please contact Debbie Paige.
