The offshore wind opportunity: lessons learned from the United Kingdom

During the next five years, the nascent offshore wind industry is poised to become a major supplier of electricity in the United States. Some 30 gigawatts of power are planned in federal waters up and down the East Coast by 2035 – enough energy to power 20 million homes — and the Biden administration recently announced plans to allow offshore wind development in federal waters off California. In this webinar, CSG East’s State Legislative Climate Alliance hosted experts from the United Kingdom, the global leader in offshore wind energy generation, who shared best practices and innovative policies that have created a thriving skilled workforce and supported a strong domestic market.
